How many lives can you live? On busy days, I remind myself how privileged I am to be in I can be a physician, teacher, writer, leader.. I remind myself of “the art of capture, the art of embracing” & at times, “the art of letting go”..

Love this framework! 👇 It’s all about reframing.. ✔️”Struggling Learner” ✖️”Problem Learner” 1. Define the “Chief Complaint” 2. Obtain the “HPI” 3. Generate a “Differential Diagnosis” 4. Correct the problem/Create a plan

The writing in this piece is just beautiful! I almost love the language here more than the actual story... “... the right conductor can unleash unsuspected energies in familiar works..” Beyond music- this is the story of creativity...

Agreed! The word “patient” connotes vulnerability, which is central to the patient-physician relationship The move to “customer service” came when the system failed to serve our patients well Service, too, is a powerful word.. How about “Patient Service”?

Some of the most impactful MedEd concepts that we have today did not necessarily start in the highest impact journals... Impactful = stands the test of time “in vivo”...

I love hearing endorse the idea that meetings shouldn't be 30 minutes or 60 minutes just b/c that's what Outlook tells us they should be. (This is why I have Gmail set to 25 and 50 minute defaults.) Also, meetings are allowed to end early.

Grateful to the Dept of Population Health for inviting THE from Learned about the pitfalls of “merely adequate thinking”, “the illusion of explanatory depth” & the importance of acquiring “causal knowledge” for complex problem solving..

Agreed! We must de-emphasize USMLE 1 BUT- we first need a solid plan for the “vacuum” that this will create.. Like many of you, I live in & love both the UME & GME worlds & see the issue from both sides.. Needed: more trust & collaboration across UME-GME continuum..
