The goal is to figure out how turtles exist in heavily modified urban and suburban landscapes, with a focus on threatened species. For us that’s Blanding’s and Box turtles.

Well they’re actually in fairly small natural areas, but floating in a sea of urban/surburban stuff. Movement data should be interesting!!

Down the track, for sure. First step is mark-recapture, telemetry, and hopefully some nesting and maybe head-starting. Come visit!!

I did greens maintenance on a golf course in northern NJ for several years. There were several species of turtles living there. Always fun to watch them.
