    Well observed.

    There’s a dangerous denial spiral that may manifest soon. As people’s loved ones get sick, are hospitalized or even die, many who have thus far denied the pandemic threat will face severe cognitive dissonance. To escape personal culpability, these denials will grow more extreme.

    "Cracks"? clarity: the CASP press release says 'AlphaFold produced models for about two-thirds of the CASP14 target proteins with global distance test scores above 90 out of 100.' So it gets an A on 2/3 of its exams, and doesn't take the rest.

    This inspired by good thoughts from on why we have people claiming to have discovered a universal measure for "general intelligence", but most would think it silly to claim a universal measure for athletic ability (and the oddity of similar claims)
