Do we know what material the core of Jupiter is made of? I thought we didn’t even know if the core was solid. How do we know these things? Juno mission?

Planet formation theory shows every planet grows from a small protoplanet. That becomes the core. It forms from primordial material. It’s composition depends on how far it forms from the sun. When it grows big enough, gravity starts pulling in gases so it gets much bigger.

We really should consider devising a mission to send a robotic spacecraft to explore the Trojans... You know what? These bodies are so far away, we should come up with a way to explore more than just one Trojan... But we need a catchy name, maybe Sally or Patty Marcie? No...

While it certainly would make sense, how can we say this with any certainty? Are we even certain what is at our core, yet alone Jupiters massively shielded core?

Also, would that imply Jupiter formed at that distance and migrated inwards? It seems most Jupiter like planters we are finding are located very close to their parent star, hence the term Hot Jupiter. I thought that was our leading explanation of how our own Jupiter formed.
