14. I say all of that because it is so often these little elements of keeping track that either arm us as a nation with the truth or keep us in the dark.

15. So, as we discuss the rise in hate crimes, I hope we also discuss the morally negligent ways that we fail to measure what really matters for our most vulnerable communities. /fin
