1) Children have died from COVID. 2) We know COVID can cause long-term physical and mental health issues but don't have a clear picture on how severely they impact kids, although we do know kids are impacted. COVID isn't risk-free for kids.

Children live in families and communities. While others have rightly pointed out that some children get very sick from COVID, another risk is children spreading it to others. These vaccines are fantastic, but not 100%. If children aren't vaccinated, some could lose a parent.

This is the problem with the "vax the vulnerable" idea, too. 1. Vaccinate the "vulnerable" only. 2. Disease spreads among everyone else, causing deaths and long-term sequelae anyway, and mutates as it passes among hosts. 3. Invent another vaccine for new resistant strain. Repeat.
