  1. So excited to receive the 2020 A Woman's Worth Award on 3/21/20. For more info, go to TY for highlighting women who contribute to their communities and create resources for other women. I am beyond honored. CC:

  2. I am creating a safe space for Black mom physicians "Melanin, Medicine & Motherhood". Here's why it is so important for all of us. via

  3. The mental health impact of working in spaces, where implicitly (& explicitly) White feelings are prioritized over all should not be underestimated. As a black mom I must speak up, b/c I'll be damned if my girls have to dim their genius to make a living.

  4. Not to be missed today: Trump expanding his travel ban to include several countries including Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation. The reason appears to be explicitly about curbing immigration vs a security related rationale via

  5. Public charge is not a "them" issue. It's an "us" issue- & if unchecked, will hurt our youngest Americans most and the diversity of our nation. I . Why do you fight ? RT with your own video.

  6. "The Muslim ban, like so many other of this administration’s policies, is rooted in a desire to dehumanize and exclude communities of color." Read 's op-ed as we mark the 3 years since the Trump admin's took place

  7. Why matters. I asked my mom if she had to choose between food, housing, healthcare or a green card. She said the green card. "The opportunity to be a US citizen was non-negotiable." Fighting for kids no matter where their parents come from is non-negotiable.

  9. Stunned that a rule upholding racism & xenophobia is going unchecked. This = kids with ⬇️ access to food, housing & healthcare. We will need to do more to protect immigrant families & we HAVE to do one thing- Vote.

  12. Explain to me how is killing it in this impeachment trial right now? I love seeing black women working in their excellence, putting everyone on notice, and then make everyone pale in comparison. You just have to stop and stare. I'm in awe.

  13. I believe MLK's book "Where Do We Go From Here" may be more relevant now than in 1967. The regression in civil rights in the past 4 yrs illustrates that "freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor, it must be demanded by the oppressed.

  15. As a mom who is promoting Black moms to grow more comfortable being ourselves, please watch. And if you can share with a young black girl, please do. I needed to hear this. I only wish I had this when I was much younger.

  16. When Black women push past society's restrictive criteria for "excellence", it's not "". It's Black women living authentically & sharing just a fraction of their genius. Calling our genius "magic" is a last-ditch effort to not acknowledge how very real it is.

  17. NEW EPISODE TODAY! In this week’s episode, Courtney Dunlap and I speak about homeschooling for moms of color and the importance of homeschooling in addressing the missing education of the history of communities of color in the US. To listen:

  18. From costly filing fees to increased waiting times to proof of reading & writing English, the amount of barriers that are being put in front of immigrants to the US is devastating. Keep fighting. CC:

  20. sufficiently addressed by a general women's rights or motherhood agenda. Our needs to be clearly outlined because the system is deeply entrenched with "norms" and "fit " that attack our ability to succeed as our authentic self. I hope it's clear now.
