This was an incredible read. Disturbing. But incredible.

I'm referring to the line: "Nor is it a matter of poor social skills or the need for sex causing psychosis." I mean, yeah, neither of those cause psychosis (psychosis is most likely about brain chemistry), but WTF?
-
Mass murderers are often publicly discussed as “someone who was mentally ill”. The writer is saying that lack of sex isn’t causing psychosis that is fueling men to kill en masse. People will deal with mental illness whether or not they are having sex.
-
Yes, as a schizophrenic I'm well aware of that. But since psychosis is completely irrelevant to the discussion, mentioning it at all in that context is bizarre. No one is saying that virginity -> schizophrenia. 1/?
-
People say that psychosis causes violence and ignore that it's actually toxic masculinity. They don't say virginity -> psychosis -> violence. I get what he was trying to say, but it shows a complete lack of understanding re: how people talk about psychosis & violence. 2/2
-
Yeah, you’ve got everything he was saying completely wrong. You can’t project your frustration with a narrative on a single writer who mentions something in passing. Pen an op ed or something. He doesn’t deserve to be dumped on.
