Next week is an important one for the Apalachicola River & Bay. On Monday, I will be attending SCOTUS oral arguments in the FL v. GA water wars case, which focuses on a judge’s findings that Georgia’s upstream water uses have harmed the Apalachicola ecosystem & fisheries.
I have been working on this issue since coming to Congress, fighting for an equitable deal for Florida’s communities along the River and Bay.
I am hopeful that the Supreme Court will recognize the devastating effects of Georgia's water usage and the Army Corps Water Manual on the ecosystem in Apalachicola and the economy in the Second District.
