HSAs contribute to lower healthcare spending by promoting consumer driven healthcare. We passed legislation to nearly double the contribution limit, end the prohibition on purchasing over-the-counter medications, expand access to HSAs, & allow HSAs to be used by working seniors.
How do HSAs work when deductible plus premiums is $12K a year, for folks making around $18K? Impossible to effectively save for these things unless workers have a clear $500 to $1000 to spare every month. This & tax credits = slam against working poor.
