I've been hammering away at this - you cannot have accountability without expectations, and a clear path towards consequences/transformation that will be result if the expectations aren't met. That requires direct comms, which is not on the table.

It takes a massive amount of work to communicate/advocate/set these expectations/consequences. So, a big problem is, on top of intrinsic risks of confrontation, *who* will do it, and *are* they going to be compensated? Why are direct comms not on the table

You have to protect yourself from systems like that. Minoritized people can’t survive. If you choose to stay in such a system, you must find ways to thrive in the midst of negativity. Put your oxygen mask on first.

Confrontation is complex. It’s connected to people being labeled a bad person. Confrontation should be about a situation first. It issues continue, that’s about someone’s character.
