I visited mates there numerous times and almost moved in myself at one point. Loafers was the go to for many street workers, beneficiaries, and others with few other options. The negligent owners knew there were fire risks and still never bothered to fix the alarms.

The hostel was used as both long term (over 13 years) & medium term accomodation, for many of our most vulnerable members of our society. Those that didn't lose their lives, have lost everything else they had in the world 💔 Link for donation ⬇️ wellingtoncitymission.org.nz

Thank you to for sharing our stories authentically. Listen in to dancers & experts across the motu speaking about their lives & what occurs when you pair a lack of labour rights with stigma, systemic prejudice & discrimination

I’m applying for a thing I probably won’t get, & I know the possibility of not being successful is real. But you don’t get anywhere in life without taking risks. It’s brave to back yourself, & failure is another opportunity for learning anyway. That’s what I’m telling myself 😌

Browsing catering menus and came across ‘Manapes’, which are large versions of canapés. How irritating. Big snacks do not need to be gendered 🙄

Academic spam/scamming is so ridiculous. We can barely get funding to attend real conferences, never mind fake ones. There’s definitely more lucrative targets if you’re seeking to scam people out of money 😅

👇 please support this. This is one of the reasons I dislike #mothersday. For so many #children & #adults, this is a painful, upsetting day - & it’s really just a commercial exercise that perpetuates unhelpful myths & stereotypes about #motherhood & #family. #MothersDay2023

Have you called your Mum yet today? Hundreds of kids in Victoria can't. This #MothersDay, we’re calling on Corrections Victoria to fully fund phone calls from people in prison to their loved ones, and to increase the length of time they're allowed to talk.

I’m fascinated by this drama. After watching this, I think the CE was determined to dislike the new mayor from the start & desperately wants him to fail. A sad case of feeling threatened by a younger person getting the job & not one of his old mates who he’s familiar with.

Welcome to Gore - where the mayor & the CE haven't been talking to each other in months & the residents want action. This unbelievable story of local politics is out this evening on ⁦@TVNZ⁩ 7.30 or ⁦@1NewsNZ

A good and important read. This is one of the reasons I get annoyed when a class is called ‘yoga’ and it turns out to just be a stretching class. Yoga isn’t stretching. I’m so grateful the studio I go to meaningfully teaches the spiritual foundations

Had an anxiety dream last night over something important that I really need to get done. The anxiety-procrastination loop is really not helpful, but I’ve been here many times before & I recognise I’m in it. Time to take control & get this done

I passed my viva in Nov 2011 with minors & got a lecturer post in March 2015 after a LOT of rejection. I’ve done pretty well in my career since though & I love my job. The academic job search struggle is rubbish, but rejection does not reflect your ability to do the job well.

Everyone says this but OH my GOD the post-PhD job hunt is truly soul-destroying. And believe me I know what soul-destroying feels like, I did a PhD.

The Ideal Nordic Model Poster Child Nordic model advocates often use people with a history of prostitution as poster children for their movement whose trauma they use to spread their rhetoric. How do they use them to spread propaganda and why?

Had given up on alcohol free wine as most of them are really crap, but can confirm this one is actually pretty good! Disclaimer - I haven’t consumed actual wine for over 18 months & may have forgot what it’s like, so your milage may vary 😂

I both love and hate morning exercise. Getting myself to it is so hard, but how good and smug do I feel when it’s done? Very good and very smug! 😅

Imagine being refused entry to a country & deported because of the type of work you do at home. This is what happens to many sex workers. It’s harmful, discriminatory & totally unjust. Borders, oppressive sex work/anti trafficking laws, & facial recognition tech are a toxic mix.

For SWers -a few weeks ago I was deported at the US border as I was trying to enter LAX under an ESTA to visit. I was coming from Aus, aiming to stop in LA before making my way home. I was detained for 22 hours and sent to back to the UK. I'd deleted my ads, had no intention to

This is so incredibly sad. I am no outdoor ed expert but I cannot fathom why on earth you’d decide that caving was a safe activity for kids/anyone in the weather forecast yesterday. It seems like one the most unsafe activities you could do in heavy rain

Been listening to Ed Sheeran’s new album and feeling all the feelings. I love it so much - so beautiful and full of emotion. I love Ed and his music and I don’t care what anyone else thinks of that 😆

I absolutely believe we need to fix this. The Prostitution Reform Act has made sex work much safer and we need to ensure migrants also get those protections.

i'm not at my most eloquent in this interview, but: the whole point of decrim was to make it safer to do sex work, and to get help if you are getting hurt while working. section 19 makes that impossible for migrant workers on visas, and harder even for asian citizens like me
