Hey @krispykreme, I love that you want to thank people for getting the #covid19 #vaccine! Every incentive helps & free donuts may help move the needle. However, donuts are a treat that's not good for health if eaten every day. Here's my suggestion for what to do instead: (1/4)

First, if someone indeed eats an Original Glazed #KrispyKreme donut every day as your offer provides, and changed no other aspects of their diet/exercise, they'd gain approximately 15 pounds by the end of 2021. I'm sure that's not your intention. (2/4) https://krispykreme.com/promos/vaccineoffer …

Why not give vaccinated people a box of donuts to give to an organization of their choice instead? They can bring it to their office, donate it to charity, share with their friends, or eat it all themselves if they really want. Do it as a one-time offer of appreciation. (3/4)

As a public health expert, I can't endorse a diet of daily donuts. Still, I appreciate @krispykreme's out-of-the-box thinking & hope that other companies will join in to incentivize #vaccines. Vaccines protect all of us, and it takes all of us to end the #covid19 pandemic! (4/4)

Um, people aren't going to their offices right now. If they do office work it's from home so you are suggesting they bring a full box of donuts to spouse & kids. Or share socially with unvaccinated friends. Nobody is making a special trip to eat 1 donut a day. Stop worrying.

I go into the office daily. We are not supposed to have a communal water source. If you can’t share a water cooler how on earth are you supposed to share a box of donuts?

Time to educate yourself on how food guilt and body shaming leads to worse consequences than having the odd treat in moderation. When did anyone mention eating donuts everyday?

The offer lets you get one per day but I sincerely doubt most people would redeem it once, let alone every single day... the suggestion that pretty much anyone is going to suddenly pick up this donut per day habit is, frankly, stupid af. Fwiw I totally agree with you

...please reconsider basic logistics of how the “one time offer” would work. You’re showing proof you’ve been vaccinated but haven’t gotten your free box how then? Without this being a giant PITA? I’ll wait.

No, it's one a day, per their website FAQ. It also says they're not going to take any record of your card. You just flash it and voila, free donut. Every day.

As advised by @dumbaristotle ask you self three questions before you speak: 1. Does this need to be said? 2. Does this need to be said by me? 3. Does this need to be said now? I assure you that the answer to all of these questions as it relates to the donut promotion is NO.

I think you should personally volunteer the time and resources to make sure that people only get one one box of donuts.
