My vision for Planned Parenthood is simple. One: continue to provide expert health care and education to ALL people. That means everyone –people of color, young people, people with low incomes, the LGBTQ community, the undocumented and immigrants.

Two: Protect access to that care. Last week, voters sent a strong message: reproductive health care and women’s health care are MAINSTREAM health care. And health care is a human right. We aren’t going to stop fighting until that’s a reality for every last one of us.

Three: Expand our services, care, and impact. As an emergency physician, I saw firsthand what happens when health centers shut down, when people must choose between paying for blood tests or electric bills. These are decisions no one should be forced to make.

We’ve got our work cut out for us. There are huge battles ahead. But I’m so inspired by the 12 million+ supporters who power this organization. This is just the beginning.

Abortion isn't healthcare.

It’s a woman’s right to choose. Yes, deciding whether or not to put your body through hell for almost an entire year and the consequences thereafter is a medical decision between a woman and her doctor. It IS healthcare.
