Lost Pokemon of the Day: Turban
First revealed when Gold & Silver's 1997 demo leaked in 2018, Turban was almost promoted to becoming its own Pokemon... rather than just the monster that chews on Slowbro's tail.

(2/4) Gold & Silver's 1997 demo didn't include any official English names -- but since his Japanese name was Taaban, which translates to "Turban," that's become his unofficial nickname.
While Slowpoke & Slowbro are Water/Psychic type, in the demo, Turban was pure Water-type.

That name is kind of random to me.
I always wondered about that, though - and also what deems something “a random monster, nbd” as opposed to official Pokemon? Cartridge space, apparently.

Every since Gen 1 the Pokedex has said that it's a Shellder that bites Slowpoke's tail

I could imagine some sort of plot of the Slowbro being “slow” because its constantly in pain from having its tail bitten. (This doesn’t really account for its earlier form appearing rather absentminded also, though.)

I'd like to think thats what the Slowpoke Tail item was for to evolve Shellder into this.

I wish this spiky boy wasn't cut 😢
But I guess it would open up a whole new can of worms with the implication of two Pokemon fusing together 🤔
