With choice, should homeschool & private school students have to take the same tests as public school students? If no, why not? #HLR2015

@DrJuneAtkinson You're implying that they should. What are your reasons? The research I've seen shows non-public education is doing fine.

@slj1965 I am just asking the question? How do you know they are doing better if the same tests are not used for all?

@DrJuneAtkinson @slj1965 They are graduating & being sought after from major universities. We don't teach to test, we teach to learn.

@yeastfreegirl @slj1965 I have no interest in changing any homeschool laws.

@DrJuneAtkinson @slj1965 We do take the same tests they are the Act/Sat. We out perform on college readiness tests.

@DrJuneAtkinson NC law says homeschool students must take a nationally standardized test. Are you advocating that the law be changed?

(1/2) @DrJuneAtkinson A benefit of homeschooling is the student moves at pace appropriate for him/her - sometimes faster, sometimes slower.

(2/2) @DrJuneAtkinson Parents aren't necessarily interested in seeing how they are progressing compared to public schooled students.

@DrJuneAtkinson @slj1965 Assessments and tests are different. I can assess my children without public school tests to determine mastery.

I agree @lovemytwins1019. @DrJuneAtkinson now claims she's not for homeschoolers using public school tests. Then why the original question?
