40 years ago my grandfather just wanted 'SHEHE' for everyone. He was rejected for the priesthood by the catholic church cos he was too religious/earnest (they got scared).

Sexual spectrum? What do you mean by that? Are you talking about the 100+ genders, each with its own flag? What do you do with the flag when you're in the mood - plant it at the end of the bed?
-
No, gender identity and sexual identity are different because one refers to how you view yourself and the other is about sexual attraction. If you take time to reflect - how do you know what gender you are? How did you know who you were sexually attracted to?

Similar but CofE upbringing for me starting in an era when homosexuality was still illegal. In my early teens became aware of the sexual diversity and accepted it whilst remaining heterosexual. Society changes and I think "they/them" will become the norm embracing all people.

Sorry, but could someone please explain what all this “they/them” and “sexual spectrum” thing is all about.
-
Some people don’t feel the gender they were assigned at birth matches their lived existence and feel like they aren’t either male or female. The ‘sexual spectrum’ equally means there are people who don’t feel they are attracted just to people of the same sex or the opposite sex.

I'm afraid 'they/them' still reads as plural to me!
-
Use it in a sentence. Eg. ‘I’m going to ask them what they think...’

Sorry, I am a 'she'. To be referred to as 'they' is insulting.
-
Why?? Try this. ‘I’m going to ask them what they think.’ Is that insulting?
