COVID-19 mortality in locked down California vs. free Florida by age group through Sept. 22, 2021 (latest CDC data).
If the lockdowns accomplished anything, they harmed the old without protecting the young.
Lockdown = Let It Drip.

In reality it's probably because a greater pct of Floridians 65+ are fully vaccinated than Californians in the same age group. mayoclinic.org/coronavirus-co

Agree. FL's early vaccination of the eldery played an important role, as did its focused protection efforts before the vax. Teasing apart the contributions of each is not trivial, but will be interesting when done right.

My mom died this summer. She got covid in the hospital where she was being hospitalized for a severe infection. The doctors told us she died of the infection. But her death certificate says she died of COVID-19. 😒 What I know for sure, is she died alone hooked up to machines. 😡

I am so sorry about your mom. Whether COVID or not, losing loved ones is devastating. May her memory be a blessing to you and others.

I attached a post on raw death differences, showing CA mitigation much better than Florida's.
Excess mortality is a bit more difficult using age groups, but I may get around to it.
Anyway, the OP is highly deceptive, and should be revised/deleted.

For both your statement and the graph to be true the weighting in the up to age 54 would have to be multiples of the over 54.
Median age ~38. So there would be significantly more people in that low bracket.
Still hard for me to see it. Interesting!
