UK hospitals 🏥 seeing critical staff shortages + caseload. 📌Maybe whoever arrogantly pushed the “#Omicron is mild” / “no need to worry” should be fired. 📌Maybe whoever naively believed the “it’s mild” propaganda should reconsider how they were so dangerously duped.

BREAKING: A very serious situation at hospitals across Lincolnshire tonight as @ULHT_News declares a 'critical incident' over "extreme and unprecedented" staff shortages. It says it is "unable to maintain safe staffing levels" leading to "compromised care" across its sites:

2) Same situation in US hospitals — both overloaded and critically short of staff due to both infections and burnout. 👇 this will be repeated worldwide if we don’t stop #Omicron and wake up!

TOTAL CRISIS in hospitals being ignored— “All the medical-surgical units, beds & spaces are full. Many patients are lined up in hallways. There’s no more words—a crisis—a catastrophe—calling it a perfect storm is an understatement”. READ👇 by @ddiamond washingtonpost.com/health/2021/12

3) I don’t know who can still call this “mild” with a straight face when staring at 2x record pediatric hospitalizations.

⚠️Totally “mild”—US pediatric #COVID19 hospitalizations nearly 2x last year’s all-time high. Kids shouldn’t be hospitalized—kids shouldn’t be getting #LongCovid. Kids have their whole lives ahead of them. Let’s protect the kids. 🙏 HT @DrWilliamKuHealthData.gov

4) Please please please don’t buy the “mild” propaganda hype. It doesn’t help anyone— it in fact endangers more people. And it’s not really that much intrinsically milder once adjusted for risk factors.

“Mild” but hospitals overloaded. “Mild” but healthcare workers burnt out. “Mild” but thousands of flights cancelled. “Mild” but no booster shots for kids in under-ventilated schools. “Mild” brain damage. “Mild” collapse of society. …“Mild” my ass. #COVID19 #Omicron #LongCovid

7) hospitalizations has never surged as quickly as it has now. The vertical spike in recent week is UNPARALLELED in its sheer rate of hospitalization increase. But but but “mild” the propaganda is—don’t believe it. Believe epidemiologists 👇

👇and some folks are calling our warnings fearmongering, scaremongering, etc... Get your vaccine (booster) and wear a good quality mask.

My son works in a pharmacy. He’s starting to see staffing shortages. He’s boosted and wears his K95 without a break. He only takes it off to eat…outside…alone. 🙏🤞

My cousin in VA: Early 2020 "Covid is just like the flu". 2 weeks ago, " Omicron is just a cold". Now she heard that PCR testing was ending 12/31 and test can't distinguish between flu and Covid.

Need to put this in scale. “2x pediatric hospitalizations” is true and scary. But going from 325 to 750 hospitalized in a nationwide pediatric population of 73 million gives better context. It’s not good, nor is it bad.
