Serious question, where does this end? Isn't the "normal" progression of viruses to become more easily spread but less lethal over time (since that helps the virus to survive given it can't spread if it kills to many people)? Or is that just an urban myth?

This is why the US cannot delay sending vaccines and PPE to stop this from happening in other countries. Even taking a selfish approach to this pandemic, it’s not worth the risk of mutations that may lead to ineffective vaccines.
