Holy crap—Taiwanese lawmakers threw pig intestines over importing US pork containing ractopamine, an animal feed additive banned in 160 countries, for health effects.
Ractopamine is so poisonous, it’s even banned by China & Russia.

The FDA checks that the levels of all contamination falls within approved limits. There are approved limits for bug parts and feces......:)

It's legal in Canada, but almost no pork producers use it—ractopamine-free certification is a big deal here too. We want access to European and Asian markets. I wish it was because it's nasty on the pigs.
