This is what infuriates me. They say this number like it’s good. It’s HORRIBLE. We don’t have a panic problem we have a apathy problem I think is more dangerous than even just the virus itself.

We stand to lose 1/5 to 1/3 of the adult population of America to this disease.

Again, using S. Korea numbers because you've told us we can "trust" them. So far, .006% of population tested positive. That would equate to 22,290 cases in US. Assume, based on all cases worldwide, 18% require hospitalization. That's about 4100 people over time.

You are taking the number of infections in S. Korea after a week's worth of transmission, that authorities are desperately trying to contain, as a measure for the overall impact of a pandemic?

Maybe separate ppl as much as possible and slow down infection rates. Switch to online learning, cancel mass gatherings, work from home of possible. It will have to be done eventually anyway. Every case prevented is one less hospitals may hv to cope with

This is exactly what other countries have done, but I truly doubt Americans will accept that. Let's see.

For sure, it's been understood for weeks that in a best case scenario thousands and thousands will need hospitalization. I've been hoping that state level health officials have been planning. But they've been keeping it secret not to panic anyone. That is my one slim hope.
