So far this season there have been 13 million cases and 6600 deaths from influenza. I’m not understanding the morbid alarm. It’s more contagious by a factor of 2 and death rate is higher. Please explain the difference.
You're comparing something that is already wide spread with something that is just starting. Influenza automatically gets PHEIC stats every year. Influenza also has a mortality rate as low as 0.1% but nCoV could be higher than 3%.
You've been calling it, Dr EF-D. Exponential growth within China is terrifying. The only real chance is that the R0 value is much lower in other countries that only have single and double digit # of patients so far. Local containment at this point is the only hope elsewhere.
When are all countries going to call out the correct infection and mortality figures?
So no Superbowl, right?
