We could use either nationalized or municipalized broadband

This is late stage capitalism's vision of beauty.

This along with other utilities should be nationalized. If those are not public goods and necessary to live I don't know what is.

Amen!! We can't live anymore without the internet. We need the internet to find & apply for a job and housing, apply for government benefits, find assistance programs... It's no longer a luxury, it's a necessity! High-Speed Internet For All!!

When I first started teaching I couldn’t understand the #nohomework policy. Other teachers didn’t know. Finally I asked kids how many had internet access at home and it was maybe 1/4 of class. They couldn’t even access my elaborate google classroom lesson.

Some schools let kids take home their cheap Chromebooks some schools don’t. Most schools have a policy that if you break/lose CB you have no computer for rest of school year. One kid told me as she sat doing nothing that her brother pawned hers.

I have to walk a mile through construction rubble and cross a highway with no stop light to get to a bus stop. My pets and I would be in sad shape if we couldn't order supplies online.

What are the valid arguments of how the people would be protected from the Government run internet being able to be shut off like in India.
