This letter threatened physical harm to me if action wasn't taken by my institution, regarding harassment (that did not exist). 2/pic.twitter.com/RzxUAk8j0E
My Twitter account has not been locked at all during the time that she (I believe this is the correct pronoun) has been harassing me. The same cannot be said about her, and in fact I make an appearance in her tweets quite frequently. As recently as last week. 3/pic.twitter.com/w3WNKCKXXR
She has been blocked since December. I have been advised by mentors and colleagues to ignore and move on. I & other scholars of color, specifically Black and Asian-American women (who have also received letters at institutions) have done the same, but this attack continues. 4/
Ignoring doesn't work. She wants to silence us, to drive us off social media, and to harm ties to our communities. This is an insidious, racially motivated attack and it's enabled by her anonymity. I am not anonymous online, which is what she weaponized. 5/
She also counted on the ivory tower to do its job, to police and silence faculty of color or because this has now become an institutional issue, to get me labeled as a problem. This can threaten prospects of promotion and pay raises and materially harm me. 6/
I don't for a minute doubt that this was the intention. Racists don't like WOC having a platform, of any kind. The list of racist names that was exposed on #AcademicTwitter yesterday is not unrelated to this harassment. The concern trolling is transparent. We see you. 7/
This is the extent of my interaction with her. You can see that it's all been instigated by her. She was blocked after the last one. 8/8pic.twitter.com/OFCqfmcg82
I want to add that my chair, dean, and HR have been very supportive. They have kept me involved in the process, and they find no merit in these allegations.
Context for that last tweet, which is when my interaction with her began and ended, dated 12/19/2020.pic.twitter.com/U0m8PFcCr9
While you're here, please make sure to read @ProfKori's article on know your place aggression, because this attack is a case study in such racism. #AcademicTwitter #LitPOC https://muse.jhu.edu/article/715439 pic.twitter.com/LGce6gY3Gb
Further context exposing her continued monitoring of my account and her language shows that she is trying to police my conduct (yet again).pic.twitter.com/ofe1apym2t
