Right? Sure would've been nice to not adjunct for 9 years before my FT gig but here we are. Now I do whatever I can to help my adjuncts find FT positions.

Haha, can you imagine “sorry kids, can’t pay to keep a roof over your head this month, mummy is sticking to her academic principles”

Exactly! Adjunct. Adjunct. Adjunct. One has to pay bills & eat. Make up your own mind & plan how to get out of adjunct ship, no one is gona save you, and you don’t need to be saved. The onus of change in the system lies on the privileged, not on people in precarious positions

This is especially offensive given her record of attacking adjuncts on twitter.

I didn’t know about this. Her relevance to academia is in the job market which is threatened by adjunctification so rather than using her power, privilege, and connections to lobby for change, she will, checks notes, blame adjuncts.

“You people shouldn’t participate in this exploitative system but since I’m benefiting from it, I’ll stick around,” is a real take

How did the exploited become the villains here? How about the tenured walk away, the admins stand up for equitable pay and working conditions? The collapse of the college and univ structure is inevitable. There is no support beneath the weight of it.

I did and they replaced me with a white man.
