The OP is quite aware of Cleopatra’s ethnicity. Whiteness is multitalented and turning ancient Greeks who were probably mixed race given the lack of info about her mother, is erasure.

Ancient people didn't think about race the way we do, "mixed-race" wouldn't have been very translatable to the. From the ancient descriptions we have of her she was not dark-skinned, and might have had red hair. She would probably pass for white if resurrected in modern Americapic.twitter.com/M10OeO4IuL

Being Greek myself with very light skin but dark hair & eyes, people tend to assign whatever "race" they want to me, particularly when I speak Arabic, Urdu or Spanish. "Race" isn't really a useful here, if the person playing the ancient role is a reasonable fit therefor it's fine
