I’m not sure where you’re seeing a critique of BIPOC scholars. I see anti-gatekeeping rhetoric in everything from discourse about the public humanities, about the relationship between academics and librarians, about history writing (on all kinds of topics), &c.

This morning’s pile on seemed an especially bad example of an inconsistency I’ve long seen on humanities Twitter: calls for engagement and inclusion (of many kinds), on the one hand, and gleeful punching at easy targets (usually in the sciences and social sciences), on the other.
