Yes! So my point is should we first lead our students to those pleasures and then make visible the ideological works they do! I loved your discussion in showing WHY race work is important and how these discourses proliferate! Just pushing the argument a bit!

I don’t ever make it a secret that I love this work and this language. I think that helps students navigate these ambivalences. We’re not canceling Shakespeare, just showing them how even in the realm of beauty and affect, power/knowledge is at work.
