If you can’t say #BlackLivesMatter
in your message to the community, I’d rather you stay silent. If you don’t name Black men, women, and children targeted by police brutality, you are complicit in that violence because you tacitly underwrite it.

I’m waiting for something other than an empty social media post from mine. Apparently, the students received a message, but there’s been nothing addressed to the faculty and staff so far. I find it especially disconcerting given what happened in our own city.
-
I don’t know if students have received anything. We certainly haven’t. Systemic white supremacy is everywhere and our institutions, who claim to value equality and inclusion need to signal that they stand with our Black students and faculty and staff. Hope you get something soon.

Just FYI, no, the students have not received anything from.

Thanks, Mason. That's what I thought, but hoped otherwise.

Our institution’s response was abominable, a vague condemnation of violence as if there’s a f*ing equivalence.
-
Sounds like they had the same writer? How do you respond to this level of state sanctioned brutality against Black people and not use the words “Black people” and think that your statement is anything other than hollow?
