I'm not sure of the source, Dorothy, but I agree that the erasure of blackness is and has been a choice made (repeatedly) by (white) scholars across time. The racist and sexist gatekeeping of knowledge is systemic. I am also a big fan of Ambereen's and am jazzed she is writing.
