TFW you’re the most junior person in the room advocating for equity and people tell you after the meeting that they wanted to say something in support. It means a lot more when you do it in the moment and you use your privilege. Otherwise it’s exploitative.

Understood. It is infuriating & exhausting to be made flag bearer by default. Am white/VI/she/her & find self on boards speaking in support of the (usually) one BME member who joined for other reasons but becomes de facto Diversity rep. Hope I am ally rather than voice-stealer.

My theory is there's no point showing solidarity outside the room where change could take place. I'd prefer to put any privilege i have to work in the room with people who control change. But realise i need to make sure I help though, not cause your eyes to hurt from rolling!
