I feel terrible for this woman. A comment though. We have some cultural differences regarding the raising of children. *Most* white American kids are raised to be quiet in public. My Afghan friends' children are a bit WILD, & it's not easy on my nerves. Can we compromise????https://twitter.com/DrPragyaAgarwal/status/1156595838438821888 …

I see a lot of white American kids being loud and rowdy in public. It’s what you choose to see and also solid to the hyper visibility of minority identity. Your tweet is problematic.

Not understanding your statement, sorry. Could you explain?

Because minorities stand out they are rendered hypervisible, so whenever one seems to behave outside the cultural norm it's more obvious than when someone from a majority culture does the same thing. That's why you don't notice white kids being loud.

I get nervous around loud children. That's not a crime. But there is a bigger reason why the kids' behavior concerns me. The new immigrants are checked on a lot. I don't want them to get in trouble. Some other children have been removed from their homes.

Thank you for being worried for them and I'm going to take this as a good faith response. But I want you to know that this is also called concern trolling: when someone tries to disguise their bigotry or whatever by feigning concern.
