I haven’t said that, 1818 is indeed the best. I only say that this edited version by Robinson about MS changes is not implying Percy Shelley co-authored but is actually a unique edition based on his experience with the manuscripts
I’m publishing a book that makes clear that we need to spend time on thinking about how Mary Shelley contributed to Percy Shelley’s work and vice versa. Seems a shame to make them antagonists...
I assumed “earliest draft” refers to a manuscript version and not the published 1818 text, or else referring to the 1818 as the “earliest draft” and Percy’s version as a “revised text” is insulting in the extreme
Maybe read the book as this isn’t what it means don’t assume!
