Yes, so true!! The implication in Green’s phrasing that whiteness is default & his assumption that “Shax is necessarily white until proven otherwise according to a specific and narrow set of affects” is what sets me off here. It underwrites & reinforces those practices of erasure
I can't stand this guy. And his reviews of Shakespeare are particularly galling. He doesn't know what he is talking about. If he hates a play, then I always want to see it. I don't know why this prestige paper employs him.
