@pbooth81’s Digital Fandom is another great starting point.@De_Kosnik’s work, Rogue Archives is also excellent and has been hugely influential on the work that@valfazel and I do. -
Big second for Rogue Archives — on top of being a great way in to fan studies it is just so brilliantly written

If you're interested in landmark first wave studies to have a historical perspective of fan studies/scholarship then maybe look at Lisa Lewis The Adoring Audience, Henry Jenkins Textual Poachers (20th anniversary ed.), also Matt Hills Fan Cultures

And of course,
@fcoppa’s work is important. The Fanfiction Reader is terrific. - Näytä vastaukset

And finally, the Journal of Transformative Works and Culture is a terrific resource: https://journal.transformativeworks.org/index.php/twc

Additionally, the Journal of Fandom studies is good; it's edited by Katherine Larson, who with Lynn Zubernis co-authored Fan Culture Theory/Practice (2012)
-
They also wrote the book I love about Supernatural, Fangasm: Fandom at the Crossroads. It's a great exploration of what it is to be both an academic and a fan.
