A teaching tip: Make sure when a student speaks in class that everyone can hear them. Train them to speak loud enough to be heard and for others to be quiet. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Else the other students quickly learn they can tune out whenever another student speaks.

I remember reading something by
@MrVaudrey where he’d plant seeds in student’s ear, (e.g. I’m going to call on you in a minute to share this out, be ready). Erased the shock of being called on. I often also ask another student to repeat what first student said. Echo helps. -
