I’m curious about how students will read it. I find that discussions about race and whiteness in class tend to bring up the defensive aspects of white fragility. I wonder if students are likely to be less defensive if they read an article about the phenomenon?

That’s it exactly. I had a student conference where a student got very defensive and then said, “am I having a white fragility moment”. It was great!
