    Being a Lib supporter I wish I could defend Mathew Guy, but irrespective of CFA legislation he wanted defeated, he destroyed his future in politics & handicapped our election chances with dishonerable trickery. It will haunt our party for years. He must go so healing may begin.

    Great piece Craig. It’s clear to anyone who does this kind of modelling for a living that by abstracting from the transitional dynamics the Murphy modelling must overstate the gains from a company tax cut.

    Astonishingly the Victorian Liberal Party seems to have no qualms about invoking Christianity to deceive the Labor Government into providing pairs and then lying, cheating and boasting about it.

    The next time the Victorian Liberals ask for a pair on the basis that one of their MPs is ill, how will Labor be sure they don’t have a miracle recovery and turn up for a decisive vote?

    This is such a violation of our democracy if the Opposition leader can't see that he should resign. It's that simple. Completely unfit for public office.

    I presume Labor will never agree again to Liberal requests for pairs. The Liberal leader is proud he tricked Labor into believing two Christian Libs who requested pairs had left to observe Good Friday. But they turned up for the vote anyway. Sneaky.
