While funding gun violence research is a worthy long-term goal, children don’t have time for us to wait for more research from the CDC. How many will die in the 10 years it will take to get that data? We have enough data *right now* to enact laws to protect them. 2/5
I am prepared on day one to 1. Sign legislation to require universal background checks on all gun sales. 2. Support already written legislation to ban new sales of assault-type weapons 3. Close loopholes that allow non-spouse domestic abusers to buy guns. 3/5

I never thought I'd see our schoolchildren having to beg for their lives and their safety. These young men and women are putting everyone on notice that they're strong and they are not going to wait for someone to do the hard work for them!
I am so proud of these kids I could cry! I believe this maybe the turning point in this battle.
I suggest we Golden Oldies support these young folks by showing up at their rallies, putting signs on our walkers that say "Way to Lead, Young People!", and cheering mightily at their speeches.
