Not vindictive, how about following the law. If your here illegally then you should be deported. He's had twenty years to get legal, but no, he didn't want to do it legally. So, whose fault really is it?
The problem is, there is no clear path to citizenship for those who have been here without documentation for more than a few months. He would have had to start the process when he was less than 2 years old. Which is obviously not possible. So, it’s not his fault.
