#Kansas tried it under Brownback, leading to economic devastation for the state. Failing schools. Crumbling infrastructure. They had to go back and raise taxes again. 3/
And who suffers when we try this experiment over and over again? The poor. The sick. The elderly. Women. People of color. All while the rich line their pockets and the gap between the haves and the have-nots widens. 4/
Corporations simply don’t give away their earnings for no reason. The have a fiduciary responsibility to enrich their shareholders. They only share the wealth when they can’t fill their open jobs. 5/
Worse, these types of conditions often lead to an economic downturn. US history is littered with examples of tax cuts followed by financial crashes. I fear we are headed that way. 6/
Meanwhile. who is looking out for the working class and the poor? Who is pursuing policies that benefit them? This is why the #FightFor15 is so important. 7/
The working class needs a raise right now. They can’t afford to wait for “someday”. It is cruel to tell them that “we will get there”. They need this right now. 8/
