Yes. I’ve been thinking about this all day. These types of allowances make a mockery of the oaths we take as physicians and other providers of care. There was a time when religion was used to discriminate against people of color. 1/
Had these exemptions existed, Healthcare providers would have been able to deny care to people based on skin color. That would obviously be a breach of duty. This is no different. 2/

If these exemptions are allowed based on religious belief, what is the endpoint? What is the recourse for patients? 3/

It is my duty, when I walk into a patient encounter, to put aside everything that might impede provision of the highest level of care that I can give. No exceptions. 4/

Think of all of the women who died in childbirth, & were therefore 'unclean', & had to be buried OUTSIDE of cemeteries!
