Would any of you good Doctors care to discuss some of the problems with Medical Ethics here? Or even about the ways Religious objections to medical procedures can be a VERY slippery slope?
Yes. I’ve been thinking about this all day. These types of allowances make a mockery of the oaths we take as physicians and other providers of care. There was a time when religion was used to discriminate against people of color. 1/

Had these exemptions existed, Healthcare providers would have been able to deny care to people based on skin color. That would obviously be a breach of duty. This is no different. 2/

If these exemptions are allowed based on religious belief, what is the endpoint? What is the recourse for patients? 3/

Just to clarify, for those of us who don't know how religious you are, Mr. Rivers--you're trying to say that using religion as a way to NOT help people, is *not* the way YOU understand your Christianity's teachings, correct?
