This is what a candidate who cares about his constituents does.
In #TX31, our Dem candidate Donna Imam
blocks constituents (I can’t tag her)
refuses to attend forums that allow questions
does not answer constituent emails
does not hold public Town Hallshttps://twitter.com/RickKennedyTX17/status/1285291450889101313 …

#TX31 is an important district for Dems to turn out every vote. We need to work together to achieve that.2 replies 1 retweet 8 likes -

I am truly shocked by Dr. Mann’s choice and can only assume that she does not intend to run as a Democrat for public office in the future.

If you’re more shocked about holding candidates accountable than by the candidate refusing to engage with their constituents, I’m not sure you really care about representative government. Refusing to engage with constituents is *never* acceptable. Perhaps ask Ms. Imam to unblock.

Then see what happens. She has thus far blocked *everyone* who has asked her to unblock constituents. Maybe she will listen to you.

Have you been upset when Republicans refuse to engage with constituents? Are you going to care when they refuse to answer your questions? Why the double standard?

Yes ma’am I have. Please do not imply a double standard. You don’t know me, please do not speak for me. My issue is attacking a Dem nominee 103 days ahead of an election. And when it comes 9 days post a loss in a run-off it does not come across as a principled statement.

So when is the appropriate time for me to hold her accountable? I became a private citizen the moment I lost. Why would I not have the right to be able to access the person running for this seat and why would you not support my right to have that access?

What do you say to the dozens of other constituents that she has blocked, people who have been private citizens all along? Do they have a right to access the person running to represent them?
