That's a bit of a gray area. Is a campaign a business?
Yes. We have a tax ID number and we pay payroll taxes into the system that funds unemployment and these loans. I paid into that system for most of the last three years as a candidate.

We wouldn’t have been able to get the loan without meeting that criteria. We consulted with accountants and the Federal Elections Commission about it too.
