my own building, employed my own staff and kept my facilities well-maintained and clean. I didn’t have to answer to anyone about how I ran my business. That’s the difference between single-payer and single provider.

The point I was trying to make is that the single payer system I’m advocating for is not *also* a single provider. Doctors will continue to be independent contractors who will be paid by the government and but not employed by them. It’s a system like Canada’s, not like the U.K.
