Before You Put On That Mask I get it. You want to do *anything* you can to prevent the spread of this virus to you and your loved ones. But before you put it on, PLEASE keep the following in mind: (10 points)

I have allergies, I'm an essential worker. I wear my mask at work as well as when I'm outside. I personally believe and feel better doing this. I do have a question. Do kids that had asthma when younger and no longer have it also wear masks? Asking for my daughter.

Is anyone sure it’s not an airborne virus? Germs in the wind and all that, if it lives on cardboard & surfaces etc
-
It's transmitted through respiratory droplets. Like when someone sneezes, bites their nails, anything with respiratory droplets. That doesn't qualify it as airborne.

Ur intentions are good, but you are overemphasizing the negative & patronizing us. Just tell people what masks can & cannot do, how to wear them, carefully take them off, & care for them. It's fine to add that mask-wearing is in ADDITION to other measures like staying home. Once.

Excellent thread. Thank you for your clarity. I’ve been under SAH orders since a Nov. car crash... still recovering. I go out once a week at most these days... but I dread having to go to the grocery. I wear a mask to protect myself as best I can, & gloves... but it’s scary.

... having scrubbed over 7000 cases, ( UF trauma team ) we don't talk in surgery. It moves the air. Masks are one tool in asepsis. We wear sterile garb, and dispose of it each contact. Thank you...
