If every bed and every ventilator is being used on #covid19 then patients with heart problems/acute asthma attacks/post surgeries do not have beds & ventilators either.

You can’t just order additional beds and ventilators. They have to be manufactured. We will run out of existing stock if we don’t slow the spread of disease.

Cruelty & swiftness may be the plan. Maybe it’s deliberate (classified) policy to have a sudden, huge pandemic & let it do what it does. Maybe the point is not to create a longer, softer, controllable curve but to create max peak quickly and return to ‘normal’ quicker. Cruelty.

Unmet Need. If too many people need ICU, intubation, oxygen the hospitals will not be able to treat virus patients or -other- critical problems like heart attacks, strokes. When people socially distance themselves, get tested it slows things down. Tell your govt. to get tests.

Appreciate the info, truly. But it's already too late. And even if it wasn't you're talking about a country where 150ish million people are dumber than a bag of hammers. There is no stopping what's about to come.

Flattening the curve isn’t about *stopping* it. 1/4 to 1/2 of the population will be affected. It’s a matter of if we are affected in a way that overwhelms our medical and economic systems or not.
