These teams spend time between pandemics creating statistical models, best-case/worst-case scenarios, and algorithms necessary to immediately address pandemics when they occur. This between-pandemic work is *critical* to readiness when a pandemic appears. 4/8

As a planet, long-term thinking begs the question: Should these things be allowed to run their course? I know medics like to heal, and doctors like to fix, but should that be the goal? Maybe pandemics are the earth's solution, not the problem.
